As a financial advisor, Nick strives to be a trusted resource his clients can turn to whenever important decisions arise—someone who can provide an objective perspective, help them weigh their options, and keep emotion from driving their choices. Responsive and thorough, he makes sure his clients get the information they need in a way that’s clear and easy to act on, so they can make confident decisions that reflect their big-picture goals.
Planning Specialty
Nick works with a wide range of clients, including executives, small business owners, young professionals, and families navigating multigenerational wealth. He enjoys helping executives make thoughtful decisions around stock awards and employer compensation. He recognizes the emotional aspect people can have around the company they work for and provides an objective perspective, so clients can realistically evaluate their options in relation to their long-term goals. Nick also works with clients on planning strategies such as gifting and tax-efficient charitable giving. He helps clients connect those strategies to their values and determine how their wealth can support the people and causes that matter to them.
His Approach
Nick focuses on presenting financial information in a way that’s easy to understand, regardless of a client’s level of financial knowledge. He takes the time to explain complex topics in straightforward terms and isn’t afraid to speak up when he believes a client is considering a decision that may not be in their best interest.
Having worked in multiple areas of financial planning, Nick understands what goes into developing, implementing, and maintaining a financial plan. That broad range of experience gives him a holistic view of the planning process and helps him anticipate what clients may need at different stages of their financial journey.
Professional Background
Nick first gained exposure to financial planning as an intern at the Ameriprise corporate office in 2017. That experience showed him that advising was a natural fit for his strengths: he enjoyed working with numbers, but he was equally interested in helping people and learning the unique stories and circumstances behind their financial decisions.
After graduating from the University of North Dakota in 2018, Nick joined Fathom Advisors. He has spent his entire career with the firm, gaining experience in different areas of the practice as he worked his way into his current role as a financial advisor.
